SYNOPSIS
For the Bhutanese people, life, culture and religion are intertwined and their gentle manner, their friendliness and hospitality, soon make you feel ‘at home.’ In this itinerary, you will experience true Bhutanese culture, as we stay in the farmhouses of Tangsibji, chat with monks in the dzongs, temples and monasteries and admire the magnificent hand-painted work on the thangkas and walls of these architectural wonders, some thought to be as much as 1,500 years old.
We cross high passes, strewn with prayer flags and stand in awe at the stunning views of the snow clad High Himalayan Peaks, then drive one of the most exhilarating roads in the Himalayas, descending 3,000m in just 84km!
From the lively towns of the west, through the heartland that is central Bhutan, to the isolated villages of the east, the dexterity of the craftsmen at work will amaze you; the pristine ever-changing landscape, its wildlife and plants will enthral and the heritage which we invite you to witness will provide memories to store – for ever!
Druk Yul, the Land of the Thunder dragon welcomes you.
